Born and based in Athens, where she works as a set & costume designer. She is a graduate of the Department of Interior Architecture, Decoration and Object Design of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and the Department of Scenography & Costume Design of the University of Manchester. She has designed sets and costumes for performances at the National Theatre of Greece, Athens Epidaurus Festival, Art Theatre Karolos Koun, Neos Kosmos Theatre, Onassis Stegi, Greek National Opera and other theatres in Greece and abroad.
Aristophanes presents Euripides disagreeing with women during their great celebration of Thesmophoria. The idea for the design of Thesmophoriazusae was to set up a camp in which the women would spend the nights. All tents were painted with ancient Greek and other motifs and colours and they were illuminated from inside, thus creating a small village at the back of the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus leaving the orchestra of the theatre free. Thesmophoriazusae was my first work at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. This collaboration was carried out while I was pregnant. Therefore, the source of inspiration was twofold. The stimuli that this magical space offers in combination with the anticipation for the arrival of my child led me to create this stage design. It was a unique moment of expression for me. I subconsciously created a world that brought out a childlike feeling combined with the enchanting atmosphere of this place.
