Saint-Exupéry’s symbolic fairy tale is full of “treasures”. The challenge was to make clear the profound messages of the play without simplifying them. What interested our creative team, starting from the text, was that the younger ages became acquainted with and loved this masterpiece. Visually, I decided to present the heroes as frivolous, humourous, surreal and to a certain extent exaggerated. I intended the actual loneliness of the text to be reflected in the large space occupied by the characters on stage. Being an actress myself helps in selecting props and costume elements that “shed light” on the truth of theatrical roles. There is a constant internal dialogue that in combination with the appreciation I have for colour creates images resembling tableaux vivants. The responsibility of directing this performance allowed me to bridge aesthetics with all arts supporting it.
