She collaborated with significant directors for performances staged at Amore Theatre, National Theatre of Greece, Greek National Opera, National Theatre of Nothern Greece, Porta theatre, Athens Concert Hall, Athens Epidaurus Festival and various municipal and regional theatres. She designed the costumes for the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games (Athens, 2004) as well as for the Eurovision Song Contest (Athens, 2006). She collaborated with various directors such as Thomas Moschopoulos, Yannis Houvardas, Lefteris Voyatzis, Dimitris Lignadis, Maya Lymperopoulou, Stavros Tsakiris, Nikos Karathanos, Xenia Kalogeropoulou et.al. She also designed the set & costumes for the award winning film Dogtooth (Cannes Film Festival, 2009), directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. She passed away on April 18th 2021.

An opera about the solitude of the elderly and the ephemeral we all have to face. It features moments of old people’s lives and deaths, in a world encompassing both the familiar and the metaphysical. The significance of the opera theme is different when presented during the gradual recovery from Covid. The main reason, however, that makes this performance unique is its completion after its creator’s passing. Elli Papageorgakopoulou, the designer of this performance and one of the most acclaimed performance designers of her generation passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2021. Her assistant, Sotiris Melanos, who had been collaborating with her since the beginning of the project is then invited to complete it. This participation in PQ23 is homage to Elli Papageorgakopoulou presenting her last design project.
