The performance is based on the true story of Anna Sorokin, who was convicted of defrauding financial institutions, banks, hotels and New York’s social elite. The dramaturgy suggests that the characters live between reality and a digital fantasy. So, we had a unique opportunity to freely experiment on stage combining the human body, sculptural forms, video art and programming. The setting is a sculptural wall made of seventy screens, where actors step, climb, or sit. An elevated reflective platform and the wall form an oversised smart-device on stage. The screens -either as a whole or individually-create a digital environment where characters are transported to places, while we can read their thoughts, their memories but also the screens of their mobile phones. The projection content is inspired by the aesthetics of collage, comic books and video art.
