This project came to select sound stories of citizens and passersby in Athens. Benches have always been a place of everyday narratives. This action, the outcome of the cooperation between different fields (performance, graphic design, web development), creates a “museum” of narratives in the heart of the city so that benches assume a narrative aspect beyond their practical usage and public space becomes a place of expression and socialisation. When users find themselves at one of the six benches, they can listen to the stories there, different for each bench and record their own – on a smartphone, laptop, tablet and 4G. In the artwork, we listened to unique stories from the quarantine and isolation, love confessions, but also treasure hunts, jokes and metaphysical narratives. This is a rare encounter between passersby, as they get to know each other by listening to their stories and they can also leave their own sound mark in the city.
