Judicial text becomes a stage act as an urgent need for the two fiercely conflicting worlds to emerge. The stage space is shaped by this contrast: at the front, the spatiality established by the orating actor-lawyer and at the back musicians-judges recording and distorting his speech. Props follow this distinction: an aluminum ladder giving the impression of ascent, escape, perspective through the slant lines of its basis and an oblong table stressing horizontality, stability, inertia. The actor engages in conversation with a domestic ladder kinetically, suggesting multiple relationships with the object that constantly transform the conceptual burden of the empty space. Costume design follows spatial distinctions. The actor is associated with the young world of voluntaristic reaction, while the musicians with the adult regimental, depersonalised and aggressive world. The stage act was intended as an unexpected encounter of art with politics, theatre with reality, confinement with social resistance.
